Company intelligence / Profile preview
EyeCool Therapeutics has developed ETX-4143, an investigational cooling device for the treatment of chronic ocular surface pain. In a recent randomized, double-masked pilot study involving 31 patients in Australia, the device demonstrated statistically significant reduction in eye pain severity and immediate as well as lasting relief. The procedure is performed in-office and targets myelinated long ciliary nerves via topical cooling. Additional studies are ongoing to evaluate its effectiveness for other indications such as ocular hypertension.
