The company was founded in 1975 and was acquired on September 4, 2007 as the first acquisition for Pediatrix Medical Group's American Anesthesiology division. Subsequent provider records indicate the former legal business name Fairfax Anesthesiology Associates Inc was replaced by American Anesthesiology of Virginia PC, so the original FAA entity appears no longer to operate as an independent company.
