Fairfax Identity Laboratories (FIL) was a prominent provider of DNA identification services, specializing in forensic casework and relationship testing. Operating as a division of the Genetics & IVF Institute (GIVF), the laboratory offered a comprehensive suite of genetic tests including paternity, maternity, and kinship analysis for legal and private purposes. FIL was highly regarded for its quality standards, maintaining accreditations from the AABB and the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB). In 2017, the forensic DNA division of FIL was acquired by Sorenson Forensics, which integrated FIL's expertise and client base into its own operations.
