Company intelligence / Profile preview
Falcon Pharmaceuticals was the generic pharmaceutical division of Alcon, specializing in the development and commercialization of ophthalmic, otic, and topical medications. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, the company focused on providing cost-effective generic alternatives to major eye and ear care brands, including treatments for glaucoma and ocular allergies. Following the acquisition of Alcon by Novartis in 2011, Falcon was eventually integrated into Sandoz, Novartis's generic medicine division, in 2015. This strategic move consolidated Novartis's position in the generic ophthalmology market before Alcon was eventually spun off as an independent company. Throughout its operation, Falcon was a significant provider of Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs) in the specialized ocular space.
