Family and Medical Counseling Service

Family and Medical Counseling Service (FMCS) is a non-profit community health center and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) based in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1976, the organization provides a comprehensive range of integrated primary medical care, behavioral health services, and social support programs. FMCS specializes in serving hard-to-reach populations, particularly in the African American community, with a strong focus on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, substance use disorder counseling, and mental health services. The center operates multiple locations in D.C. and Maryland, as well as mobile units, to deliver culturally competent care regardless of a patient's income or social status.
