Company intelligence / Profile preview
Far East Pharmaceutical Technology Company Limited was a prominent pharmaceutical and biotechnology firm based in China and formerly listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company specialized in the development and commercialization of cardiovascular and antiviral medications, most notably its flagship amlodipine product, Jinpu, and its recombinant human insulin, Jinshulun. At its peak, it was recognized as a leading manufacturer of high-tech pharmaceutical products in the Fujian province, operating extensive GMP-certified facilities. However, the company faced severe financial distress and corporate governance scandals in the mid-2000s, leading to its eventual liquidation and delisting in 2007. Its historical significance remains a case study in the rapid growth and subsequent collapse of early Chinese biotech ventures.
