Company intelligence / Profile preview
Farma Biagini was a prominent Italian pharmaceutical company specializing in the development and manufacture of plasma-derived medicinal products. Founded in 1968 by the Marcucci family and based in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, the company focused on the fractionation of human plasma to produce life-saving therapies, including albumin, coagulation factors, and immunoglobulins. In 2001, Farma Biagini merged with the plasma derivatives business of Sclavo and other entities to form Kedrion Biopharma, which has since become a global leader in the field. The company played a critical role in establishing Italy's self-sufficiency in blood-derived products and remains a foundational part of the Tuscan pharmaceutical hub.
