Company intelligence / Profile preview
Farma Lepori was a prominent Spanish pharmaceutical company founded in 1946 and headquartered in Barcelona. The company specialized in the development and commercialization of specialty medicines, with a particularly strong presence in the dermatology, respiratory, and cardiovascular therapeutic areas. In 2004, Farma Lepori was acquired by the Swedish pharmaceutical group Meda AB for approximately 70 million Euros to serve as a platform for Meda's expansion into Southern Europe. Following Meda's acquisition by Mylan in 2016 and the subsequent merger of Mylan with Pfizer's Upjohn division, the legacy operations of Farma Lepori are now part of Viatris. The company was well-regarded for its portfolio of established brands and its manufacturing expertise in topical and oral formulations.
