Established in 1874 by the Hospitaller Order of Saint John of God (Fatebenefratelli), it serves the healthcare needs of Vatican residents and provides specialized international medications to the public that may not be available in the Italian market. The pharmacy operates as a retail and hospital facility, offering a wide range of pharmaceutical products, parapharmaceuticals, and traditional galenic preparations.
