Femtonics

Femtonics is a private Hungarian scientific instrumentation company that develops and manufactures two-photon and multiphoton laser scanning microscopes for neuroscience, biological research, and pharmaceutical development. The company’s flagship Femto3D Atlas system uses 3D acousto-optic technology for ultrafast real-time 3D imaging and photostimulation, while its FEMTOSmart line offers modular customizable two-photon microscopes for in vivo and in vitro applications. Femtonics also supplies optional modules, chemical compounds, accessories, and control/analysis software including MES and MESc. Founded in 2005 as a spin-out rooted in the Institute of Experimental Medicine, the company serves laboratories globally from Budapest with a U.S. presence in Beverly, Massachusetts. Although it is not a therapeutics developer, its tools are used in neuroscience research, brain imaging, and drug discovery workflows.
