Company intelligence / Profile preview
Ferrero is an Italian multinational family-owned corporation founded in Alba in 1946 by Pietro Ferrero. It is best known for iconic brands such as Nutella hazelnut spread (invented by Michele Ferrero), Kinder chocolates including Kinder Surprise and Kinder Bueno, Tic Tac mints introduced to the US market in 1969,[6] Mon Chéri chocolates,[6] and premium confections like Ferrero Rocher launched in the early '80s.[8] The group employs about 40,000 people globally with a presence spanning more than 170 countries through dozens of factories and trading companies.[1][2] Despite being a major player on the global stage—with annual revenues estimated at over $17 billion—the firm remains privately held by the founding family under executive chairman Giovanni Ferrero. Its core business centers on sweet-packaged foods rather than pharmaceuticals or biotechnology products. There are no indications that it develops drugs or health-related therapies nor does it operate within traditional life science sectors such as pharma or biotech research/development/manufacturing.[1][4][5]
