Fidia Advanced Biopolymers (FAB) was a biotechnology company specializing in the development of hyaluronic acid-based biomaterials for regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. As a subsidiary of Fidia Farmaceutici, FAB developed the proprietary HYAFF technology, which involves the esterification of hyaluronic acid to create biodegradable scaffolds and matrices. These materials were used to develop advanced products for skin grafting, cartilage repair, and complex wound management, including Laserskin and Hyalograft C. The company's innovations provided a foundation for cell-based therapies by offering biocompatible environments for autologous cell expansion and delivery. FAB's operations and intellectual property have since been fully integrated into the parent company, Fidia Farmaceutici.
