Firson, officially known as Zhejiang Firson Co., Ltd., is a prominent Chinese pharmaceutical company specializing in the development and large-scale manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and advanced chemical intermediates. Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Quzhou, Zhejiang, the company has become a global leader in the production of small molecule drugs for central nervous system (CNS) disorders and cardiovascular diseases. Their core product portfolio includes high-volume APIs such as Gabapentin, Pregabalin, and Valproic acid, which are exported to major markets in North America and Europe. In 2017, Firson was acquired by Porton Pharma Solutions, a leading global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), for approximately $82 million. This strategic acquisition integrated Firson's extensive manufacturing capacity and technical expertise into Porton's global service offerings. Today, Firson operates as a key manufacturing site within the Porton network, maintaining rigorous compliance with international GMP standards and US FDA regulations.
