FL Group was a prominent Icelandic investment company that played a significant role in the global pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors during the mid-2000s. The firm was most notable for being the largest shareholder in Actavis, one of the world's leading generic pharmaceutical companies at the time. Beyond its pharmaceutical interests, FL Group held substantial stakes in aviation, financial services, and real estate. Following the Icelandic financial crisis in 2008, the company underwent a massive restructuring and was eventually renamed Stoðir. While it was not a drug development company itself, its aggressive investment strategy significantly influenced the consolidation and growth of the generic drug industry.
