Flemia Therapeutics

Flemia Therapeutics is a Japanese biotechnology startup founded in April 2026 as a spin-off from Okayama University. The company is focused on developing first-in-class monoclonal antibody therapeutics targeting the S100A8/A9 heterodimer protein complex (calprotectin) for the treatment of intractable inflammatory and fibrotic diseases. Its lead program is HuAb45, a humanized neutralizing antibody designed to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), acute exacerbations of pulmonary fibrosis, and inflammatory skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis and contact hypersensitivity. Flemia Therapeutics was established following the selection of its foundational research for the Japan Science and Technology Agency's (JST) D-Global program, with Taiho Innovations serving as its business promotion partner.
