Fletcher Asset Management

Fletcher Asset Management was a New York-based hedge fund and investment firm founded in 1991 by Alphonse 'Buddy' Fletcher Jr. The firm was a prominent provider of capital to the life sciences and biotechnology sectors, primarily through Private Investment in Public Equity (PIPE) transactions. It specialized in financing small-cap and micro-cap public companies that often struggled to secure traditional funding. While the firm was a significant financial player in the biotech industry for two decades, it did not engage in drug discovery or clinical development itself. Fletcher Asset Management collapsed in 2012 following a series of lawsuits and a bankruptcy filing amid allegations of fraud and valuation discrepancies. The firm is currently inactive and has been liquidated.
