Company intelligence / Profile preview
Flexicath was an Israeli medical device company specializing in innovative peripheral venous access solutions. The company developed a unique "over-the-needle" catheter system designed to combine the ease of insertion of a standard peripheral IV with the dwell time and stability of a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC). Its flagship product allowed for the catheter to be advanced deep into the vein after initial puncture, reducing the need for frequent restarts and improving patient comfort. This technology aimed to bridge the gap between short-term peripheral lines and more invasive central lines. Flexicath was acquired by ICU Medical in 2010 to enhance their infusion therapy portfolio.
