Overview
Flexion Therapeutics developed novel, locally administered therapies targeting musculoskeletal conditions. Its lead product ZILRETTA®—an extended-release intra-articular triamcinolone acetonide injection—was FDA-approved in October 2017 as the first such treatment for osteoarthritis-related knee pain. The company also advanced a gene therapy candidate FX201 into Phase I trials and developed FX301, a NaV1.7 inhibitor formulated as an injectable hydrogel intended to provide post-operative analgesia while preserving motor function.
