Floreane Medical Implants was a French medical technology company specializing in the development and manufacture of innovative surgical mesh implants for soft tissue repair. The company's product portfolio addressed a wide range of clinical needs, including hernia repair, pelvic floor reconstruction, urinary incontinence, and adhesion prevention. Founded in the 1990s, Floreane became a leader in the field of synthetic and composite meshes, notably through its subsidiary Sofradim Production. In 2005-2006, the company was acquired by Tyco Healthcare (which later became Covidien and is now part of Medtronic) for approximately $145 million. Its technologies and manufacturing facilities in Trévoux, France, continue to be a core part of Medtronic's global hernia and surgical solutions business.
