Florimond Desprez is an independent, family-owned French seed company founded in 1830 and focused on plant breeding, genetic improvement, seed production, and distribution for arable crops. The group is a global leader in sugar beet seeds and a leading European breeder in cereals, while also working in fodder beet, industrial chicory, barley, triticale, protein peas, and soy. Its business is centered on developing improved crop varieties for farmers and the agricultural value chain rather than human therapeutics or healthcare products. The company invests heavily in research and collaborates across the agricultural ecosystem, and in 2024 it combined parts of its beet and chicory seed activities with DLF Seeds A/S in the United Beet Seeds joint venture.
