The company specialized in providing solutions for molecular biology, including electrophoresis systems, gel documentation and imaging, liquid handling, and sample preparation tools. Flowgen was recognized for its technical expertise and its role as a distributor for several leading global instrumentation brands, alongside its own branded product lines. In July 2013, Flowgen Bioscience was acquired by Scientific Laboratory Supplies (SLS), the UK's largest independent laboratory supplier, which integrated Flowgen's portfolio and specialist knowledge into its life science division to enhance its service to the research sector.
