FocalPoint Partners is a U.S. middle-market investment bank focused on mergers and acquisitions, private capital advisory, financial restructuring, and special situations. The firm developed industry practices across sectors including healthcare, but it is not itself a biotech, pharma, or healthcare operating company. Founded in 2002 in Los Angeles, FocalPoint built a national advisory franchise serving strategic and financial sponsor clients. In January 2022, B. Riley Financial agreed to acquire FocalPoint Securities, with reported total consideration of up to $175 million. Following the transaction, the business has continued as part of B. Riley's broader investment banking platform.
