Company intelligence / Profile preview
Focus Inhalation was a Finnish pulmonary drug delivery company spun out of Leiras in 2000 to commercialize inhalation technologies and related formulation know-how. The company was best known for its Taifun dry powder inhaler platform, a multidose inhalation device intended to enable pulmonary delivery of a range of active compounds. Focus Inhalation appears to have operated as a specialty drug delivery and development partner for pharmaceutical companies rather than as a broad therapeutics developer. In 2003, the company was acquired by LAB International, which later became associated with Akela Pharma, and the standalone company no longer appears to be active. Its historical work included inhaled respiratory products and an inhaled fentanyl program pursued after the acquisition.
