Folketrygdfondet

Folketrygdfondet is a Norwegian government-owned investment management organization responsible for managing the Government Pension Fund Norway and, more recently, Government Fund Tromsø. Established in 1967, it invests primarily in listed equities and fixed income securities in Norway and the Nordic region under mandates set by the Ministry of Finance. The organization operates as an active, responsible, and long-term institutional investor rather than a life science, biotech, pharma, or healthcare operating company. Its core activities center on public market asset management, ownership stewardship, and risk-adjusted return generation for state capital.
