Foragen Technology Ventures

Foragen Technology Ventures was a specialized Canadian venture capital fund dedicated to seed-stage and early-stage investments in the advanced agricultural and life sciences sectors. Based in Guelph, Ontario, the firm operated as a partnership between the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and several major Canadian chartered banks, including RBC, CIBC, and TD. Foragen focused on bridging the gap between academic research and commercialization, targeting innovations in genomics, proteomics, and biotechnology. The fund played a significant role in the Canadian ag-biotech ecosystem during the early 2000s by providing critical early-stage capital to startups.
