Company intelligence / Profile preview
Forest Neurotech has developed a minimally invasive ultrasound-based brain-computer interface ("Forest 1") designed to image and modulate whole-brain activity. The first-in-human clinical study will begin in March 2025 at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust to assess safety/tolerability. The technology aims to enable new treatments for conditions such as depression, addiction, OCD, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy/seizures—especially where current therapies are inadequate. No published efficacy results yet; preclinical data suggest potential for precise deep-brain imaging/modulation with less invasiveness than electrode implants.
