Fort Dodge Animal Health, originally established as Fort Dodge Laboratories, was a global leader in the development and manufacturing of veterinary vaccines and pharmaceuticals. The company served a wide range of markets, including livestock, equine, and companion animals, with a particularly strong reputation in the biologics sector. It is widely recognized for pioneering the first vaccine for West Nile Virus in horses and maintaining a robust portfolio of cattle and canine health products. Following the 2009 acquisition of its parent company, Wyeth, by Pfizer, the majority of Fort Dodge's assets were divested to Boehringer Ingelheim to satisfy antitrust regulations. Today, its legacy continues as its products remain core offerings within the Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health business unit.
