Company intelligence / Profile preview
Fortuity Pharma was a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company primarily focused on the development of therapeutic candidates for neurodegenerative diseases, with a specific emphasis on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). The company's lead asset was a novel oral soluble film formulation of riluzole, designed to address the significant unmet need of dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) commonly experienced by ALS patients. In 2018, Fortuity Pharma was acquired by Aquestive Therapeutics, which integrated the asset into its proprietary PharmFilm technology platform. The lead product, subsequently branded as Exservan, received FDA approval in late 2019 for the treatment of ALS.
