Foster-Milburn

Foster-Milburn was a historical pharmaceutical and patent-medicine company based in Buffalo, New York, with roots in the 19th century and earlier operations in Toronto. The company marketed a range of over-the-counter and proprietary medicines, including Doan's Kidney Pills, Dr. Thomas' Eclectric Oil, Burdock Blood Bitters, and later dermatology and skin-care products such as Keri, Balneol, and Capitrol. By the mid-20th century, Foster-Milburn had developed a notable dermatology-focused business and operated related entities and divisions under the Westwood name. In 1968, its dermatological business was acquired and planned to be operated as Westwood Pharmaceuticals. Foster-Milburn is therefore best understood as a now-defunct historical pharma/consumer-health company rather than a modern biotechnology developer.
