The facility provides commercial healthcare services rather than a drug-development pipeline, with service lines spanning cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, oncology, bariatric surgery, pediatrics, gastroenterology, diabetes care, radiology, labor and delivery, emergency medicine and wound care. The hospital opened in 1971 as Fountain Valley Community Hospital and was later owned by OrNda HealthCorp and Tenet Healthcare before being acquired by UCI Health in March 2024 as part of Tenet’s Pacific Coast Network transaction. Today it functions as part of the UCI Health Community Network, extending UC Irvine’s academic health system footprint across Orange and Los Angeles counties.
