Company intelligence / Profile preview
Four Seasons Venture (FSV) was a prominent Nordic venture capital firm headquartered in Oslo, Norway, with a specialized focus on the life sciences and information technology sectors. Established in 1985, the firm was a pioneer in the Norwegian venture capital industry, providing early-stage and growth capital to innovative startups. FSV is most notably recognized for its early backing of Algeta, the developer of the prostate cancer drug Xofigo, which resulted in a multi-billion dollar acquisition by Bayer for approximately $2.9 billion. The firm's portfolio also included other significant Nordic biotech companies such as Clavis Pharma and PCI Biotech. Throughout its active years, FSV played a crucial role in bridging the gap between academic research and commercial success in the Nordic region. Although the firm has since been liquidated and is no longer making new investments, it remains a landmark entity in the history of European healthcare venture capital.
