Foventa Therapeutics (formerly Exonate Limited) is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing novel, non-invasive topical therapeutics for retinal vascular diseases. The company's lead candidate, FOV407 (formerly EXN407), is a first-in-class, twice-daily topical eye drop formulation of a selective SRPK1 inhibitor. By targeting serine/arginine-rich splicing factor kinase 1 (SRPK1), FOV407 modulates the alternative mRNA splicing of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), selectively inhibiting pro-angiogenic isoforms that drive disease progression. Foventa is currently advancing FOV407 into Phase IIb clinical trials for non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) and diabetic macular edema (DME), offering a potential non-invasive alternative to standard-of-care intraocular injections.
