FPA Medical Management

FPA Medical Management was a U.S. physician practice management and managed care company that acquired, organized, and managed primary care physician networks and provided contract management services for hospital-based emergency departments. The company offered medical management and practice management services rather than developing therapeutic products or drug pipelines. Founded in 1994 and based in San Diego, FPA expanded rapidly through acquisitions and at its peak supported thousands of physicians and approximately 1.4 million patients across multiple states. In July 1998, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and it is no longer an operating healthcare company.
