Freedom Innovations

Freedom Innovations was a U.S.-based medical device company focused on lower limb prosthetic solutions for amputees. The company designed and commercialized prosthetic knees, ankles, feet, liners, adapters, and related accessories, with notable products including the Plié 3 microprocessor knee, Kinnex and Kinterra ankle systems, and Agilix, DynAdapt, Sierra, Highlander, and Pacifica prosthetic feet. Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Irvine, California, Freedom Innovations built a reputation for premium prosthetic devices for low- to high-mobility users. Ottobock acquired the company in 2017, but following FTC action, a substantial portion of the Freedom Innovations business and product portfolio was divested to PROTEOR and the transaction closed in December 2020. Today the brand largely survives as part of PROTEOR's lower limb prosthetics portfolio rather than as an independent operating biotech or medtech company.
