Front Row Ventures

Front Row Ventures is Canada’s pioneering student-run venture capital firm founded in Montreal in 2016. It specializes in investing at the earliest stages—pre-seed and seed—primarily targeting technology-driven startups led by university students across more than twenty Canadian campuses. Its sector focus includes biotechnology and healthcare among others such as artificial intelligence and cleantech. While not itself a biotech or pharma company nor developing therapeutics/devices directly, it has invested in several innovative healthtech ventures such as Nomic Bio (proteomics), Valence Discovery (AI-enabled drug design), Puzzle Medical Devices (minimally invasive heart pump), VEGA BioImaging (cancer diagnostics), EmergConnect (digital emergency emergency care triage platform), Asepha (pharmacy automation AI tools). The firm does not have its own clinical pipeline but supports early-stage innovation that often leads to new platforms or products within life sciences.
