FTN Midwest Research was the equity research division of FTN Midwest Securities Corp, a subsidiary of First Horizon National Corporation. Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, the firm specialized in providing institutional research, sales, and trading services with a strong emphasis on the healthcare, biotechnology, and medical device sectors. The firm was recognized for its deep fundamental analysis and was a frequent source of market intelligence for institutional investors and industry media. In 2009, First Horizon divested the unit to its management team and a group of private investors as part of a strategic restructuring. Following the sale, the entity transitioned away from the FTN brand and was eventually absorbed into other financial services organizations.
