Company intelligence / Profile preview
Fuel3D was a UK-based private company that developed handheld and fixed 3D imaging systems combining optical hardware and proprietary software to capture high-resolution color surface models. Its technology originated from medical imaging applications and was later commercialized across healthcare, consumer, and professional 3D scanning markets. In healthcare, Fuel3D promoted facial and skin imaging applications and developed the Biovolume system for objective measurement of wounds, lesions, and tumor surface changes. The company also marketed the SCANIFY handheld scanner for rapid point-and-shoot 3D capture. Although the business had commercial products and raised venture funding, its main UK operating entity entered creditors' voluntary liquidation in January 2024.
