Fundacao Ataulpho de Paiva

Fundação Ataulpho de Paiva (FAP) is a historic Brazilian non-profit institution dedicated to the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis. Founded in 1900, it is the sole producer of the BCG vaccine in Brazil, utilizing the specific BCG Moreau strain. In addition to its primary role in public health immunization, the foundation produces Imuno BCG, an immunotherapy used for the treatment of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. FAP operates manufacturing facilities in Rio de Janeiro and has been a critical partner for the Brazilian Ministry of Health for over a century. The organization is recognized internationally for its expertise in the production of the Moreau-RJ strain, which is considered one of the most immunogenic BCG variants.
