Fundación Marqués de Valdecilla is a public sector foundation based in Santander, Spain, dedicated to supporting the healthcare, research, and educational activities of the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital. The foundation manages critical regional services, including the Blood and Tissue Bank of Cantabria (BSTC), which is responsible for the collection, processing, and distribution of blood and human tissues. It also oversees the Valdecilla Nursing School and various social programs aimed at improving patient welfare and public health. In collaboration with the Valdecilla Health Research Institute (IDIVAL), the foundation facilitates clinical research and the development of advanced therapies. Its mission is to integrate healthcare excellence with scientific innovation and professional training within the Cantabrian health system.
