G.H. Sherman Bacteriological Laboratories was a prominent early 20th-century pharmaceutical firm based in Detroit, Michigan, founded by Dr. George H. Sherman. The company was a pioneer in the production of polyvalent bacterial vaccines, marketed extensively as "Sherman's Vaccines" for the treatment of various acute and chronic infectious diseases. These biological products were widely utilized by physicians in the pre-antibiotic era to stimulate the immune system against pathogens causing pneumonia, influenza, and skin infections. Dr. Sherman was a leading advocate for vaccine therapy, publishing significant clinical literature to support the use of bacterial antigens in medical practice.
