Galena Biopharma was a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of targeted oncology and hematology therapies. The company's lead asset was NeuVax (nelipepimut-S), a peptide-based cancer immunotherapy that reached Phase 3 clinical trials for the prevention of breast cancer recurrence. Galena also marketed two commercial products: Abstral, a sublingual fentanyl tablet for breakthrough cancer pain, and Zuplenz, an oral soluble film for chemotherapy-induced nausea. Following clinical setbacks and legal challenges involving stock promotion and marketing practices, the company merged with SELLAS Life Sciences Group in 2017.
