Overview
Galimedix has demonstrated excellent safety and tolerability of its lead compound GAL‑101 as an eyedrop in early clinical testing. Preclinical models show efficacy against toxic Aβ species implicated in neurodegenerative diseases. The company’s topical GAL‑101 program for dry AMD will enter a pivotal Phase 2 trial (“DREAM” study) in late 2024. Oral GAL‑101 has entered Phase 1 to assess safety, PK, and blood-brain barrier penetration with future plans for Alzheimer’s disease trials. Both formulations aim to provide convenient administration with fewer side effects than current options.
