Company intelligence / Profile preview
Gane and Ingram was a prominent American chemical and pharmaceutical company that specialized in the distribution and manufacture of bulk medicinal chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Operating primarily through its manufacturing subsidiary, Gane's Chemical Works, the firm provided essential raw materials and intermediates to the pharmaceutical industry from its facilities in New Jersey. The company was well-regarded for its production of alkaloids, barbiturates, and synthetic organic chemicals during the mid-20th century. In 1987, the company's manufacturing assets and business were acquired by the Swiss life sciences company Siegfried AG. This acquisition allowed Siegfried to establish a significant manufacturing presence in the United States, integrating the Gane and Ingram legacy into its global supply chain.
