GAP Therapeutics was a Swiss biotechnology company focused on the development of novel peptide-based therapies for the treatment of cancer. The company's lead program centered on GAP161, a first-in-class peptide designed to selectively target the SH3 domain of p120 RasGAP, a protein involved in the regulation of the Ras signaling pathway. By inhibiting the interaction between RasGAP and its effectors, the technology aimed to induce apoptosis specifically in cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue. Founded as a spin-off from the University of Lausanne, the company conducted extensive preclinical research demonstrating the efficacy of its approach in various solid tumor models, particularly ovarian cancer.
