Company intelligence / Profile preview
Gartmore Global Investments was a prominent asset management firm that provided investment advisory services to institutional and retail clients. While the firm managed specialized funds, including those focused on global health sciences and biotechnology, it operated primarily as a financial services entity rather than a life sciences company. Headquartered in the United States, it was a key subsidiary of the UK-based Gartmore Group. In 2000, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company acquired a majority interest in the firm for approximately $1 billion, eventually integrating its operations into the Nationwide Funds Group. The UK parent company, Gartmore Group, was later acquired by Henderson Group in 2011.
