During the late 1990s and early 2000s, the company operated a dedicated Life Sciences and Technology division that was a significant provider of venture debt and equipment leasing to the biotechnology sector. This division helped clinical-stage companies finance laboratory and manufacturing infrastructure without the dilution associated with equity financing.
