GEDmatch

GEDmatch is a consumer genetic genealogy and DNA comparison platform that lets users upload autosomal DNA files from major direct-to-consumer testing services and compare them across a large cross-platform database. The service provides genealogy-focused analysis tools such as one-to-many matching, one-to-one comparisons, admixture/ancestry utilities, clustering, and family-tree research features. Founded in 2010 by Curtis Rogers and John Olson, GEDmatch was acquired by Verogen in December 2019 and now sits within the QIAGEN/Verogen human identification and forensics portfolio. In addition to its consumer genealogy site, the broader business includes GEDmatch PRO, a forensic investigative genetic genealogy offering used by law-enforcement and forensic investigators. Although genomics-related, GEDmatch is not a therapeutic biotech or pharma company and does not operate a drug development pipeline.
