Gen Aniline Works

General Aniline Works was a prominent American chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturer that played a significant role in the early 20th-century dye and drug industries. Originally established as a joint venture involving the German conglomerate I.G. Farben, the company focused on the production of aniline dyes, intermediates, and synthetic organic chemicals. During World War II, the company was seized by the U.S. government under the Trading with the Enemy Act and eventually became part of the General Aniline & Film Corporation (GAF). Its legacy is tied to the development of early synthetic medications and the foundation of the modern specialty chemical industry in the United States.
