Company intelligence / Profile preview
Genaderm was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative treatments for rare dermatological diseases. The company's lead program, CCP-020, was a topical formulation of diacerein, a small molecule inhibitor of interleukin-1 beta, designed to treat epidermolysis bullosa simplex (EBS). In September 2016, Genaderm was acquired by Castle Creek Pharmaceuticals (now Castle Creek Biosciences). This acquisition integrated Genaderm's EBS program into Castle Creek's pipeline of therapies for orphan skin disorders. The company was founded by the experienced drug development team that previously founded Pharmasset, the developer of the hepatitis C drug Sovaldi.
