GeneLancet Biosciences has developed a proprietary ligated single-molecule guide RNA (LgRNA) platform that enables ultra-pure, highly specific CRISPR-based gene editing. Their technology addresses key limitations of conventional synthetic sgRNAs by achieving up to 99% purity and minimizing biologically active impurities. The company’s lead programs target rare monogenic disorders, cancer, and viral infections such as hepatitis B virus. In preclinical models—including animal studies—GeneLancet’s approach has demonstrated potent antiviral activity against yellow fever virus using their LgRNA-guided system. They have received NIH contract funding to advance their lead candidate through pharmacology studies in animals as part of an IND-enabling package.
